Winter Propane Delivery Tips
The weather is getting colder and we all know snow is soon to follow. Don’t get caught off guard this year and get prepared now. Here are some helpful tips to make it a little easier during this winter season.
Make Sure to Mark the Location of Your Tank.
When propane tanks are covered by snow or ice, it can be hard to locate. Make it easier for your driver to make a winter propane delivery. Use a brightly-colored pole, stake or a flag to mark the location of your tank. And make sure that the marker is higher than the tank, so it is clearly visible.
Clear a Path for Winter Delivery.
Once bad weather strikes, deliveries get tricky. Please be considerate of our drivers. Make sure your driveway is plowed, sanded and/or salted. Also, clear a path to the tank so your driver isn’t lugging through deep snow.
Check Your Tank Regularly.
Once cold weather hits, you’ll want your home to remain consistently toasty and comfortable. Make it a habit to check your tank regularly and call us when it is down to 25%. This will allow us ample time to make a delivery, keeping your home and your family cozy and warm. Please keep in mind that during the colder months, trucks may run into hazardous road conditions that can delay a winter propane delivery. However, you can feel confident that we will get to you as soon as we possibly can.
Don’t Use Any Type of Propane Tanks Inside.
NEVER use a propane tank inside. They are outdoor tanks only and require proper ventilation. Propane tanks can release carbon monoxide fumes that could harm you and your family. However, propane appliances can be used inside, so long as they are approved for indoor use.
Get A Yearly Tune Up or Inspection.
Have a qualified service technician inspect and service your propane or fuel oil system every year. By doing this, you can rest assured that your system is running safely and efficiently.
